Fashion has been around for centuries! Some of your favorite fashion trends were inspired by different generations.

 By walking past someone in a store or just seeing them when walking down a street you will see fashion from different generations such as bell bottoms, vests, platform sneakers, and more. Fashion is the way we express ourselves and bring people together, according to Vogue.   

“Mom Jeans” were a thing back in the 90’s and people are still buying them today. Corduroy is still popular; they were brought into the fashion industry in the 70’s. Platform sneakers are seen all the time, but they were popular back in the 80’s. Scrunchies have returned into the fashion game ( even celebrities use them!) although they have been a massive part of fashion. Bell bottoms have also come back into this generation. These were extremely popular during the 60’s and 70’s.    

Seventh grader Jayden Beaver shared what she thinks about fashion today. She says old fashion is being brought back into this generation and making it popular again and that society has used fashion to express themselves and have been a resource to all types of people who want to be themselves. Bell bottom jeans or just sweater vests have inspired her. She thinks that old fashion trends have had an impact on what she sees today or what she believes in.

Bill Cunningham, a broadcaster, and business entrepreneur said fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life. 

Without fashion, we wouldn’t be able to be who we are today.
