PokéPlace: Ice Pokémon

Helena L., Staff Cartoonist, Senior Staff Writer

Hello! For this week, we’ll be discussing ice Pokémon! In my opinion, they’re one of my favorite types, not only in terms of design, I just think they’re neat!

Because they’re strong against: grass, dragon, ground, and flying, they are an essential Pokémon on your team. But be careful, since they’re weak to: fire, rock, fighting and steel. This could be bad, but it shouldn’t be if you know how to use the icy Pokémon. Overall, ice Pokémon are kinda slow. (Unless you have Weavile!).

This is bad for competitive play, but they make up for their slowness with their special attack. That being their highest stat overall. Usually, people don’t typically go for ice types, seeming as if they’re weak, or they’re bad. But, honestly? I think they’re good to have on your team.

Like I said, I think they’re good, and I would have an ice type on my team if I ever have the chance. Ice types are hard to find since there are only 55 of the creatures. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find any! Really, it only depends on what Pokémon game you’re playing.

If I could rate ice Pokémon, I’d give them a 7/10!

This is one of my favorite ice Pokémon, Alolan Ninetales. Bonus, it’s also a fairy type! First appearing in Pokémon Sun & Moon, this variant of Ninetales, a fire type, is sure to blow you away with their elegance!
