PokéPlace: Game On

Helena L.

When starting up a new Pokémon game, you can choose between three starter Pokémon. This Pokémon will be beneficial for your journey. One is fire, one is water, and one is grass. If you keep up with the news and games, you’ll know that fire is a very popular choice. But why? Well, I’ll tell you.

Basically, fire Pokémon are strong. Currently, there are 75 fire types along with the new release of Sword and Shield. Most people choose fire-types either because they look cool, their stats, or even type advantages. For example, Fire is super effective against: bug, grass, steel, and ice. That’s pretty helpful if you’re taking on any gym with that type. If you’re taking on any of these gyms, you got it in the bag! (Unless, you know, you didn’t choose fire)

But, they have weaknesses, too. Fire Pokémon are weak against water, rock, and ground types. I mean, be careful, since rock and water Pokémon are plentiful according to what game you play. Maybe use a type effective against them besides fire. It just depends on what Pokémon you’re going up against.

So basically, they’re pretty cool! I’d say they’re one of my favorite types. So, make sure you have a fire-type on your team. It’ll be greatly needed!
