Scott Niven, superintendent of Red Oak ISD, has been preparing for the mock disaster drill for several months. Niven discussed his thoughts about the drill with “RO: In the Know.”

Q: How have you prepared for the mock disaster?

A: By having multiple meetings.

Q: What are you nervous about?

A: That multiple things that have to happen.

Q: How do you think the drill will go?

A: I think it will go very well.

Q: How do you think the drill will benefit the students?

A: One, I think that we will better understand the drills, and two, we will better understand the safety procedures.
