Sescilli Redd, ELAR teacher at Red Oak Junior High, is serving on the Safety/Security/Crow Control team for the mock disaster drill. Redd discussed her thoughts about the drill with “RO: In the Know”
Q: What were your thoughts when you were selected for the safety team?
A: At first, I was excited about being selected for the safety team because I’m a new teacher, and I felt honored.
Q: How have you prepared for your role on the safety team?
A: A lot of meetings. Also planning where and how to do it.
Q: What are you nervous about?
A: I’m nervous about not doing what I’m supposed to do when I’m supposed to do it, and also the anticipation.
Q: Why do you think you were selected for this role?
A: I honestly don’t know. I might have just gotten lucky.
Q: What do you think your greatest strength will be as a team member?
A: I’m steady, consistent, dependable, take orders well, and am a team player.
Q: How do you think your team is going to do on Friday?
A: We’re gonna do awesome!
