What December holiday do other people celebrate some people say that they only celebrate Christmas and New Years and some other people say that they celebrate Fiesta of our lady Guadalupe while other people say that they don’t celebrate anything.

How do you celebrate your favorite December holiday and how do others celebrate theirs?

December is home to many holidays including
Christmas ,New Year’s Eve ,Kwanzaa ,Hanukkah and so many more. There are different ways to celebrate each. Some of them have common backgrounds  But they all have their differences. for instance,Kwanzaa is always from December 26 through January 1, but Hanukkah starts on the 25th of the Jewish month of Kislev, which can occur from late November to late December on the secular (Gregorian) calendar most people use today.

Other holidays like Three Kings Day or Fiesta of our lady of Guadalupe are celebrated by a specific religion for different reason . Fiesta of our Lady of Guadalupe is a catholic holiday in Mexico and three kings day (Epiphany)  is a christian/Catholic holiday celebrated around the world.

Then there are worldwide or national holidays like winter solstice or New Years Eve and New Year’s Day. St.Lucia the festival of lights celebrated on December 13th  in Sweden , Norway and the Swedish speaking areas of Finland, honors St.lucia, one of the earliest Christian martyrs. Lucia was killed by the Romans in 304 CE because of her religious beliefs.

Hanukkah is a Jewish festival of lights that is symbolized by the candelabrum known as a menorah. Hanukkah celebrates a lighting miracle when one night’s worth of oil lit candles for 8 days. Special foods and gift-giving are also a part of Hanukkah.

Christmas origins date back to A.D. 354, the birth of Jesus Christ was set on December 25. The date is not believed to be accurate and is the same as the birth date of Mithras. Like the other holidays, Christmas is celebrated with festivity and gift-giving. It seems to have taken over Mithras and Saturnalia traditions.

Boxing day was created when UK and Ireland wanted a more extended holiday. It is not enough for us to have only Christmas Day celebrations, we have added to this another event called

Boxing Day is a national Bank Holiday, a day to spend with family and friends and to eat up all the leftovers of Christmas Day. It  Three kings day has many  similarities with Christmas.
