The Matrix takes “average joe” from zero to hero
February 26, 2018
The Matrix, a film by the Wachowski Brothers, is a innovative and thrilling adventure set in a dystopian future where machines have enslaved humanity in the virtual world known as “The Matrix”.
Our hero, Neo (Keanu Reeves) meets Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who presents the idea of the Matrix to Neo. He is given the choice of either learning more about his reality or having his entire memory wiped.
The Matrix is a classic film that has influenced the action movie genre since its release. The special effects of this film are considered revolutionary and for a film released in 1999 they have held up surprisingly well. The over-the-top action scenes are pulled of so well that they are guaranteed to leave someone on the edge of their seat and wanting more. Andy and Larry Wachowski’s direction is top notch and their ability to make an audience think about the content that they are watching is second to none.
Overall, I would have to say that the Matrix is one of the most revolutionary and groundbreaking films of all time. The Matrix is so great that it spawned two incredibly successful sequels and an amazing animated film which were all released in the same year.
