The top 5 albums of 2015

The year is over, but the great music lives on. Here’s a look at my top picks of 2015:

Selena Gomez, “Revival”

Selena Gomez’s album “Revival” is on fire. The track “Same old Love” has a nice Synthpop background, with a mix of electro pop. It’s like you can feel the lyrics when she sings “I’m so sick of that same old love/I’ve heard it all before at least a million times.” She’s tired of her boyfriend telling her the same old story, when she knows he’s cheating on her.

Shawn Mendes, “Handwritten”

“Stitches” is a breathtaking song on “Handwritten.” The song starts with the smooth sounds of a guitar, and then picks up speed as it builds. A lyric that I will never forget is “Now that I’m without your kisses/I’ll be needing stitches.” The song is about Mendes beating himself up over a girl who broke his heart. Definitely a song to put on your playlist. Another mind-blowing song on the album is, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” a duo with Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello.

Justin Bieber, “Purpose”

The track “Sorry” has a beat that makes you want to get up and dance. The song is about Bieber apologizing and asking for forgiveness. It’s a great song to jam out to.

Zara Larsson, “Uncover”

Larsson’s best song on “Undercover” is “Lush Life,” due in large part to its awesome, mid-tempo beat. The song is about living life to the fullest — basically, living each day as if it is your last and forgetting about the past. It’s a great motivational song to forget about the bad times we struggle with.

The Weeknd, “The Beauty Behind the Madness”

“Can’t Feel My Face” is one of the best songs on the album, and like many of the best songs this year, revolves around the expression of love for a girl. It also boasts a catchy beat. Another track, “The Night,” reminds me of Michael Jackson, with the high notes in the song.
