Renaissance cards to be handed out next week

Renaissance cards are likely to be handed out either Oct. 15 or 16, according to Leadership sponsor Ruth Ryan.

The program is “a reward program for [students’] grades, attendance and behavior,” Ryan said.

Report cards, which are scheduled to be handed out tomorrow, Oct. 9, are one of the determining factors in receiving a card. Ryan will look at grades, along with discipline records of students, including lunch detentions and ISS.

To receive a gold card, students must have an “A” average, no more than one absence or three tardies and no disciplinary action. The benefits of having a gold card include getting to leave lunch one minute early each day, one homework pass, free admission to ROMS athletic games and admission to any Renaissance event, including the end-of-semester party.

A silver card requires a “B” average with no failing classes, no more than one absence or three tardies and no disciplinary action. Students who receive silver cards will receive the same rewards as those with a gold card, except for the early dismissal to lunch.
