“Insidious: Chapter 3,” which hits theaters June 5, is a prequel to the prior two hit films in the series. This chapter centers on how gifted psychic Elise Rainier attempts to help teenager Quinn Brenner talk to the dead mother she believes is trying to contact her. Unfortunately, it’s a much less maternal force that is trying to get its hands on Quinn.

Q: How is this movie different from other scary movies?

A: This movie is more psychological than gory.

Q: Were you excited when you received the role? Why or why not?

A: Yes, because I felt like it was an honor to be in a movie with such great actors and the director [Leigh Whannell] is so amazing.

Q: What was it like to be on the set?

A: It was amazing. when I would go into a different set, it would be exciting, and they would always keep the rooms cold.

Q: What can we expect from “Insidious: Chapter 3?”

A: Well, this one is the scariest out of all three of the movies. You can expect a lot.
