Next years seven-period day great for students, teachers

Red Oak Junior High will have a seven period day for 7th and 8th graders during the 2015-16 school year, which is a great idea.

As a result of this decision, double-blocked ELAR classes will be eliminated, which will leave students much happier next school year. Going to ELAR for two periods is stressful and unnecessary. With this new schedule, even though the classes will be longer, they won’t be as traumatizingly long as they were before.

Also, with a 55-minute class, teachers will be allowed more time to teach their kids lessons and for students to get ready for their electives, such as athletics and band.

The only con about this schedule is how long every class will be for students. We will have an extra 10 minutes in every class that will seem to drag on for forever during the beginning of the school year.

All in all, though, this schedule is beneficial and needed for ROJH students and teachers. This school year is almost over, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for me, and the rest of the students body, in the fall.
