ROJH to move to seven-period day next year

Nia Carter, General Assignment Reporter

The Red Oak Junior High schedule will change from eight to seven periods starting next school year.

“[We have came up with these changes] so students won’t have two English Language Arts periods and so that ROJH and the 6th grade center are on the same schedule,” ROJH principal Cristi Watts said.

Each class period will be 55 minutes long, with the exception of 4th period, which will be 1 hour and 45 minutes long.

There will also be a change in where car riders and bus riders are dropped off and picked up.

“[Another change taking place next year] is that the buses will pick up and drop off in the front of the school and all car riders will be picked up and dropped off behind the school,” Watts said.
