New ‘Far Cry’ close to perfect
March 22, 2015
Ubisoft, one of the biggest game companies in the world that brought us games like “Assassin’s Creed” and “Splinter Cell”, now gives us the open world action-adventure first-person shooter game “FarCry 4.” Whether it’s on foot, in a wingsuit, or in a personal helicopter, I enjoyed exploring “FarCry 4’s” enormous map.
You will play as Ajay Gale, a Kyrati-American, coming back to his native country Kyrat (a fictional Himalayan country) to fulfill his mother’s dying wish, to spread her ashes in Kyrat. Playing as Ajau, you figure out that your mother and father started a large group of rebels called The Golden Path. They have created this group to rebel against the main antagonist, Pagan Min, and his group The Royal Army. Although Ajay is not up to the task at first, you learn how important The Golden Path was to his parents later on in the game.
However, humans are not the only threat in this game. You also have to avoid animals such as grizzly bears, demon fish, honey badgers and many more to come.
The gameplay flowed as well as the story did. Although people are complaining that this game is too much like “Far Cry 3,” that might actually be why this game turned out to be so amazing. It is another “Far Cry” game, so of course it is going to be like the other ones. The takedowns, hunting, and pretty much everything is amazing about this game, even though the game glitches on a takedown sometimes.
Kyrat is beautiful, too. This is probably the best map I have ever visited in a video game. Kyrat is an enormous place that you can get lost in. It is a dense and visually diverse world that feels far away from normal civilization, and is very ancient. Due to the fact that you still have phones, cars, and computers, you feel like you are stuck in the modern day but with the feel of ancient time.
With its great story, open world, and many weapons for your arsenal, “Far Cry 4” is probably the best “Far Cry” game Ubisoft has released. “Far Cry 4” has much to offer with many side missions that will take several weeks or possibly even months to finish. This is a must buy for “Far Cry” fans and is a good game for people new to the series.
