For the month of January, ROJH dance teacher Cathy Isaacks was awarded Teacher of the Month for the district.

“I was very surprised and excited for Mrs. Isaacks when she was granted teacher of the month,” 7th grade student Jayla Hollis said.

Many of Isaacks students believe she won because of her hard work and dedication to her class and dance.

After being awarded teacher of the month, Isaacks went to ROJH Principal Cristi Watts and asked why she won the honor.

“[Principal Watts said I won because] other teachers sent in positive things [about my class] and parents had positive feedback also,” Isaacks said.

After receiving teacher of the month, Isaacks was very honored.

“[My family and friends] were very excited and proud and wanted to celebrate,” she said.
